Which tour is best: Saona or Catalina?
This is a personal preference question. Both are great tours. The ocean does get rough at the end of the day on the Catalina tour so if you are prone to motion sickness then I would definitely choose Saona Island.
Which tour is best for Children, Catalina or Saona?
The tour to Saona is the best one with children as the waters are calmer, and they love the starfish at Starfish Cay (Palmillas) on the way home.
Payment and Cancellation
What happens if there is severe weather on the day of our tour?
Should severe weather not permit the trip (where the coast guard calls off all permits), all efforts will be made to reschedule. If rescheduling is not permitted, then a refund of the deposit will be issued.
What happens if it rains on the morning of the tour?
Please note that the tour will still go out if there is light rain as rain here in the tropics is normal. It normally doesn’t last all day, nor does it stop the tour.
What happens if the boat has a mechanical failure on the day we are booked?
Should the boat experience a mechanical issue and not be available that day, a replacement upgraded boat will be used.
What is your cancellation policy?
All deposits are non-refundable if cancellation is within 30 days of the tour unless due to COVID with proof of illness or flight/country cancellation. Cancellations for reasons other than the aforementioned shall not be permitted unless otherwise indicated by El Tour Caribe.
Additional Questions
I want to go to one of the islands but only have half a day for the tour, can I go?
No. Unfortunately, both Catalina and Saona Islands are too far away for a half day tour. You will need a full day to visit either of these islands. We suggest our Private Half Day Charter to Starfish Cay (Palmillas) instead. This is more relaxed and you will not feel rushed.
Do you offer photo services?
Yes! We offer different packages both on land as well as underwater and via DRONE. The photo package costs are based on the number of people in your group and your activity! Please call us/whatsapp at 809 251 6543 or email us to add this service to your tour.
Do you have life jackets on board?
Yes, all boats have life jackets available for you and we also have “pool noodles” on the snorkeling tours for your use.
Are life jackets mandatory when we snorkel?
No. We do not force you to wear a life jacket if you don’t want to use one. In fact, if you love free diving down deeper or wish to learn how to do so our staff will be pleased to assist you. Of course, all boats have life jackets available for you and we also have “pool noodles” on the snorkeling tours for your use should you wish to use one.
I don't snorkel. Can I get a discount?
Unfortunately there is no non-snorkeler price. You still need transportation and food and that is where the expenses are. Once the boat is on the snorkel site there is no extra cost to snorkel.
Can we modify the menu if choosing the Chef Service Add-On?
Yes you may modify the menu choosing the Chef Service. Depending on your requests, sometimes an additional fee may apply.
