Samaná Whale Watching

Enjoy the spectacular panoramic views as you start the day with an exciting 30 minute flight below the clouds, in a turboprop plane, leaving the Punta Cana airport, bound for the city of Samaná.

Upon arrival in Samaná, a transfer awaits to take you down to the water where your boat journey begins. After a safety briefing, your boat will set off in search of these amazing giants.

With a little patience and luck, you’ll see humpback whales leap out of the water in an incredible display of acrobatic grace. Scientists say they do this not just for fun, but to alert other whales to a good feeding ground, or as part of courting rituals.

You may witness them breaching (jumping out of the water) blowing water, head lunging, slamming each other, and flippering (slapping the surface with their 2 ton fins).

Afterwards, you will make a stop at Cayo Levantado (Bacardi Island) for a rich typical Dominican buffet lunch. After lunch you will be free to browse the shops or swim in crystal clear waters on this little island paradise.

Your journey ends as you watch the sunset in the clouds aboard your return flight to Punta Cana.
